Senior Medical Officer - PORT QASIM AUTHORITY

Job Description

Port Qasim Authority is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Officer to join our healthcare team. As a Senior Medical Officer, you will be responsible for providing medical care to port employees, overseeing the operation of the medical clinic, and promoting health and wellness initiatives within the port community.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide primary healthcare services to port employees, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for acute and chronic medical conditions.
2. Conduct medical assessments, screenings, and examinations to evaluate the health status of port personnel and identify any occupational health risks.
3. Collaborate with occupational health and safety professionals to develop and implement strategies for injury prevention, health promotion, and wellness initiatives.
4. Manage the medical clinic's daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and inventory management, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services.
5. Supervise and mentor medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and support personnel, providing guidance and support to enhance their clinical skills and performance.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients seen at the clinic, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and institutional policies.
7. Participate in health education and awareness programs for port employees, addressing topics such as hygiene, nutrition, stress management, and occupational safety.
8. Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and basic life support interventions as needed, coordinating with external emergency services when necessary.
9. Collaborate with external healthcare providers, hospitals, and specialists to facilitate referrals and ensure continuity of care for port employees requiring specialized medical services.
10. Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in occupational medicine and employee health management.

Requirements:

1. Medical degree from a recognized medical school, with specialization in occupational medicine, family medicine, or another relevant field.
2. Postgraduate qualification in occupational health or equivalent certification is preferred.
3. Minimum of X years of clinical experience, with a demonstrated track record of providing high-quality medical care and managing medical clinics or outpatient facilities.
4. Strong clinical skills, diagnostic abilities, and proficiency in managing a wide range of medical conditions and injuries.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse workforce and healthcare professionals.
6. Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate medical staff, foster teamwork, and promote a culture of safety and wellness.
7. Commitment to patient confidentiality, ethical practice, and evidence-based medicine.
8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and responsibilities.
9. Proficiency in medical software and electronic health records systems.
10. Valid medical license and registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
