Manager (Electrical) - PORT QASIM AUTHORITY

Job Description

Port Qasim Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Manager (Electrical). As the Manager (Electrical), you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical systems and infrastructure within the port area, ensuring their reliability, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and support staff to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
2. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, generators, and lighting systems, to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
3. Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and performance issues.
4. Plan and schedule maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and upgrades, to minimize disruption to port operations.
5. Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors to procure necessary materials, spare parts, and services for maintenance projects.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations in all maintenance activities.
7. Monitor the performance of electrical contractors and service providers, ensuring adherence to contract terms and quality standards.
8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance logs, and inspection reports.
9. Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical engineering matters to internal stakeholders and external partners.
10. Collaborate with engineering and construction teams on capital improvement projects, providing input on electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Professional certification or licensure as an Electrical Engineer is highly desirable.
3. Proven experience in electrical maintenance and operations, with a minimum of X years in a supervisory or managerial role.
4. In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, equipment maintenance practices, and safety protocols.
5. Experience with medium and high voltage electrical systems, including distribution, protection, and control.
6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
9. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
10. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant engineering tools.
