Executive Engineer (Development) - PORT QASIM AUTHORITY

Job Description

Port Qasim Authority is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Executive Engineer (Development). The Executive Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing various development projects within the port, ensuring timely completion, quality standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage the planning, design, and execution of development projects within the port, including infrastructure upgrades, construction of new facilities, and expansion initiatives.
2. Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies to ensure efficient project execution and adherence to project goals and objectives.
3. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including engineering teams, department heads, and senior management, to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
4. Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and vendors to obtain technical expertise, bid proposals, and services for project implementation.
5. Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and risk assessments for proposed development projects, identifying opportunities, constraints, and mitigation measures.
6. Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documents for construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
7. Monitor and evaluate contractor performance, progress, and quality of workmanship on construction sites, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain project schedule and quality standards.
8. Review and approve project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and payment requests, in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
9. Coordinate with regulatory agencies, local authorities, and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for project implementation.
10. Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to project team members, including engineers, inspectors, and support staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification is preferred.
2. Proven experience in engineering project management, with a minimum of X years of experience in planning, design, and execution of construction projects.
3. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction techniques, and project management methodologies.
4. Proficiency in project management software, computer-aided design (CAD) tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
5. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and manage project teams.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in project planning and execution.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
8. Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards related to construction and engineering projects.
9. Experience in contract management, procurement processes, and tendering procedures.
10. Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship in all aspects of project management and construction activities.
