Deputy Manager (Security) - PORT QASIM AUTHORITY

Job Description

Port Qasim Authority is seeking a vigilant and experienced individual to serve as Deputy Manager in the Security Department. The Deputy Manager (Security) will be responsible for overseeing all security operations within the port to ensure the safety and security of personnel, assets, and facilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard port personnel, assets, and facilities against security threats, unauthorized access, theft, and vandalism.
2. Supervise security personnel, including security guards, patrol officers, and access control staff, providing leadership, guidance, and training to ensure effective performance and adherence to security standards.
3. Conduct security risk assessments and threat analyses to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies for mitigating security risks and enhancing resilience.
4. Coordinate with law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to address security concerns, investigate incidents, and respond to emergencies as needed.
5. Monitor security systems and surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems, ensuring proper functioning and timely maintenance.
6. Implement access control measures and visitor management procedures to regulate entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and visitors within the port premises.
7. Conduct security awareness training programs for port personnel, contractors, and tenants, promoting a culture of security consciousness and compliance.
8. Review and update security policies and procedures in accordance with changing security threats, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
9. Prepare and maintain security incident reports, logbooks, and documentation, documenting security incidents, investigations, and corrective actions taken.
10. Liaise with port management, department heads, and external stakeholders to coordinate security arrangements for special events, VIP visits, and high-security operations.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification in security management is preferred.
2. Proven experience in security management roles, with a minimum of X years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
3. Thorough knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies, including access control, surveillance systems, perimeter security, and emergency response.
4. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire security personnel and foster a culture of teamwork and professionalism.
5. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including port personnel, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory authorities.
6. Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with the ability to assess complex security situations and make effective decisions under pressure.
7. Proficiency in security risk assessment methodologies, security planning, and crisis management.
8. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to port security, including ISPS Code, SOLAS, and local security regulations.
9. Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and respond to security incidents and emergencies on short notice.
